What is the difference between former Tenant Debt Reporting and Collections in Canada?

For Canadians FrontLobby offers two effective solutions to recover debts from former Tenants: Debt Reporting or Collections.

Report a debt directly to Equifax and Landlord Credit Bureau with ongoing emails to the debtor.  Includes all Debt Reporting features, plus report the debt to TransUnion and engage a Collections Agency. The Agency will negotiate and collect payments for you through calls, emails, mail, skip tracing, garnishments, and more.

  • Debts up to 6 years old in Canada can be reported.
  • Does not require a judgement, ruling or monetary order.
  • Keep 100% of what you collect.

What to Expect
  1. Debtor will be contacted within 24 hours by email informing them of the debt, the impact it may have on their Credit Reports and asking them to contact you.
  2. Notices will be sent monthly by email.
  3. Debt will show on their Landlord Credit Bureau Tenant Record.
  4. Debt will show on their Credit Reports.
  5. Debt will be visible to credit grantors and housing providers and may increasingly impact their Credit Scores each month.
  6. Monthly Credit Alerts are sent to debtors by Landlord Credit Bureau (in jurisdictions where LCB operates) and possibly other Credit Bureaus.
  7. 38% of debtors pay within the first year of being reported through FrontLobby (22x more effective than other methods). This may happen quickly or it may take 1+ years, but actions will continue until the debt is resolved or the statutory limitation period expires.
  8. Use the Activity Tracker tab at anytime to monitor progress.
