How does sending a former Tenants' debts to Collections through FrontLobby help me recover the debt?
Canadian Housing Providers can send a Tenant file to a Collections Agency through FrontLobby to maximize the likelihood of recovering the debt.
FrontLobby is not a Collections Agency but has partnered with Suite Excel Collections to offer Housing Providers effective options. By reporting a debt to the Credit Bureaus, an average of 38% of debts are recovered within 12 months. Adding the services of a collections agency provides additional services and resources to maximize the likelihood of debt recovery.
By sending a file to collections, the Housing Provider will have the debt reported to Equifax, TransUnion, and Landlord Credit Bureau monthly. In addition to reporting to the Credit Bureaus, the collections agency may also: send letters, emails and phone calls to the debtor, perform skip tracing, initiate wage garnishment, provide assistance with negotiation and handle payment processing.
Only former Tenant files can be sent to collections. Most provinces do not require a judgement, ruling or monetary order to use a Collections agency, but one is required in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Quebec.
There is no upfront cost to initiate collections, you will only pay if the debt is recovered. If collections is successful, the fee is 40%.
For the hardest debts to recover, a collections agency combined with reporting the debts to the Credit Bureaus has proven to be effective in recovering debts.
